Birmingham Airport

The Birmingham Airport which was formerly known as Birmingham International Airport is an international airport situated 6.3 miles east southeast of Birmingham city centre. It is the base for Monarch, Ryanair, Flybe, Thomas Cook Airlines and Thomson Airways.

The airport offers both International and domestic flights within the UK. The international flights allow the passengers to come from various destinations in Middle East, Europe, Indian subcontinent, Caribbean and also North America. In 2014, about 9.7 million passengers used the airport, making the Birmingham International airport the seventh busiest UK airport. In terms of international passengers, the airport is ranked at sixth position.

Birmingham Railway

In order to travel by train, you need to use the Birmingham International station which is served by the airport. The station is located on the West Coast Main Line between London and Birmingham. Virgin Trains Arriva, London Midland, Virgin Trains, Trains Whales and Cross Country allow the passengers to access between the railway station and the airport terminal using the free facility provided by Air Rail Link.

  • Bus

If you want to travel easily and at low costs, the National Express west Midlands operates the main bus routes going through the Birmingham Airport. The bus stops are situated right outside the terminal one. Make sure that you keep British coins because most of the public buses don’t have change with them.
